What is a Holter Monitor?
The holter monitor is a small device that your child wears on their chest for 24 hours that painlessly records the activity of their heart while they are doing their regular activities.
Procedure:
We will attach the holter monitor to your child using 7 small stickers on their chest, special tape and wires and a special belt or pouch.
Your child will be able to do all regular activities with the holter monitor except swimming and showering as water does damage the unit and wires. They will sleep with the holter and can place the unit on their night table.
The holter monitor needs to be returned to the clinic the following day so that our Cardiologist can read and report the results back to the referring physician.
